ONE ON ONE: a spotlight on a filmmaker’s work and vision.
Shorts On Tap’s One On One is our exclusive live-streaming showcase, focusing each episode on one specific filmmaker and their work.
One On One offers an in-depth, up-close exploration of an artist’s creativity, style and vision, featuring screenings of hand-picked works from his/her catalogue followed by interviews, live commentary and Q&A sessions with the filmmaker in question.
Hosted by Shorts On Tap’s presenters and programmers, each One On One event is live-streamed on our website and YouTube channel, where a live audience will be able to interact with the filmmaker on the show, via a special chat box. Each One On One event is fully recorded and the file is sent to the filmmakers who’ll be able to use the footage for their own promotion, website embeddings etc, if they wish to.
One On One is a service tailor-made around the filmmakers’ needs which allows for:
Zero time pressure.
The length of the films? presented, as well as the Q&As, can be much longer than those of a regular screening, allowing deeper, more intimate, and more comprehensive explorations into the filmmakers’ work.
Collaborative approach.
The date and time of the screening is arranged together with the filmmaker involved and the curation of the event is collaborative. This allows the filmmaker to bring his own special guest speakers, if needed, or showcase other materials on top of the short film / documentary (trailers, behind the scenes footage etc). Each One On One session can be either public or private (restricted to a specific audience), live-streamed or pre-recorded.
Wide exposure.
The event will be broadly advertised across Shorts On Tap’s social channels, website and newsletter.
Depending on the relevance of the event, a press release may also be issued to various partnering publications and media outlets.
The service is open to filmmakers from all over the world and from any production field and department: directors, writers, producers, DOPs, composers, actors, editors, MUAs, colorists etc.
The fee for being featured on our One On One series is £250.

The works presented may or may not have had a festival run prior to their online release, as long as they’re not currently available to watch online.
Shorts On Tap Premiere events may also take place in private form, if required. Each Premiere event is fully recorded and the file is sent to the filmmakers who’ll be able to use the footage for their own promotion, website embeddings etc, if they wish to.

RUFFCUTS: the ultimate online test screening tool
Shorts On Tap’s Ruffcuts is the ultimate online test screening tool for upcoming film and documentary releases.
Ruffcuts allows filmmakers to organise online test screenings with a live audience of up to 200 people, to gauge their reactions, to receive their feedback, critiques, and advice on the work presented.
An instrument aimed at constructively improving a work-in-progress motion picture before its general release, Ruffcuts allows filmmakers to have a thorough, in-depth live chat with the audience and a Q&A session of up to 2 hours after each screening.
Each session is recorded and sent to the filmmaker after the event for future use along with a questionnaire filled in by members of the audience, in which viewers express their response to the film.
The audience is drawn from Shorts On Tap’s followers in the weeks prior to the private event. Each viewer is asked to sign a Non-Disclosure-Agreement (NDA) before having access to the picture to guarantee full discretion on the project presented. Ruffcuts welcomes filmmakers from any background, level of experience and location to screen-test their works prior to releasing them or submitting them to festivals.
We’re open to any genre and film type: short films, documentaries, music videos, trailers, animations and even feature films.
The starting fee for a Ruffcuts event is £250.
